A new Champion is born

A new champion was born last Saturday when the Thai born 16 years old Daoroong Samrong (Pat) was announced as the new Swedish junior champion in 51kg. After 3 very even rounds the Karlstad girl got the fight by points by being the one who scored more affectively.

Because of the short MuayThai career so long and luck of experience both girls was very tired during all the rounds but still throwing heavy punches, at the time it seemed like any punch could deliver a Ko from any side. After the fight I was very pleased with the scored cards, it can be tricky sometimes when a fight is so even, but definitely we were the side witch delivered more accurate MuayThai techniques!!!
Tires of happiness after a dream comes true

Now the motivation is high at Karlstad Muaythai when several fighters are aiming high while I have scheduled them all in fights during spring time every month. Not to forget Phenphet that is training hard and hopes to put his hands on the respectable WKN belt 9 of Mars in Arhus Denmark. The fact is that it’s a roomer going on that the winner between Phen & Ruslan will get to fight the legendary Osman Yigin to celebrate Osmans 200th fight. Please remember Muaythai fans that Osman in his times in the 90:ties fought Names as Ramon Dekker and more in the tip top level of MuayThai!!!
Now Osman Is just a bit past his 40:ties but as he stands now with the record of 199 fight he is determent to break the 200 limit And the fun thing about it is that maybe our Phenphet will be his last opponent before retirement.

Last title fight he lost on points. Lets hope he has better luck in Arhus next month.

Here is a short training highlight from last week, we want to make sure the physical condition will be good

Not only about fighting

MuayThai surly not only about fighting that’s a thing i have known for a long time but I was to remembered that last weekend  (9 Feb) when I promoted & organized the MuayThai show at our local club in Karlstad. In the end I managed to promote 15 fights, clean up the whole gym, fix all the paper work and documents you need to get the show approved from the association, took contact with a Doctor and made sure he will make it. Went to the whole sale to buy all the Hot Dogs & soft drinks that we can offer the spectators, then went back to the gym to train the fighters that has fights the following week, and to massage a few fighters that were fighting in our local show the next day
A grupp photo of the fighters just b4 the shoe was about to start

Finally I arrived at home to see my family just a bit tired not too much, before receiving a few phone calls and sms from trainers that are now telling me that their fighter is ill and can’t fight tomorrow.
With less then 14 hours for the show to start. Late Friday night I had to quickly make a few phone calls and thank god I found 2 fighters that could step in and take the fights with a very short notice.

I must not forget to thank all the team that helped this show being a good and nice MuayThai gala.
The 3 judges Tam Somaboth, Watchara & Phen. You all did a great work with the scoring cards giving unanimous decisions in all the fights. That is something that rarely happens in Sweden.
The judges & some supervisers under the table.

A big thanks to the speaker Philip Kruse and the time keeper Chon Meephan. Not to forget Don Juan that made a great job in the ring corner with the local fighters, despite 2 of 4 lost by KO, haha. That’s how it is in sports you win you lose, you go to know how to handle it when you win by not flaying up in the clouds and surly you got to know how to handle a defeat.
If you want to make it far in any sport you have got to criticize you self and your training, ask yourself how can I improve and what did I do wrong. And sometimes a loss Is not a big deal cause you just fought a fighter that was more experienced and stronger then you. You just have to keep training hard and your day will come.
Good work from young Rinkeby boy Max Elo that gave Kalifen a hard time the 3 first rounds before Kalifen was to take the fight in the end.

All the best from MM SPORTS.

Somrak vs Jonhod nr 2

The spring of 2013 is just around the corner now in our location up in the north of Europe, in about one month time we will start to see some grass popping up when the snow starts to smelt and the sun will shine more often. I will now really try to write more often as I got many responds on my e mail that people wish me to write more often and when I see that the number of readers increases every month it calls me to write more consistently
This seventh of February it will be a big big day for MuayThai that will sure be remembered in the history books, when the Thai hero and legend Somrak Kamsing will challenge the mighty champion Jomhod for a rematch after Jomhod won the first historic fight between the 2 in the begining of December last year.
This match has made a boom in the Muaythai world and specially in Thailand cause this 2 fighters were superstars in the nineties and both of them had times when the dominated. Now after more then 10 years after their retirement they both did late last year a chocking comeback specially for the cause to face each other in the ring.
Not to mansion there was a five million Baht betting on the first fight 2.5 million each.
Famous legend Jean Claude Van Damme was up in Somraks the ring corner.

Jomhod looking strong after his morning run yet again very very strong and fit for fight
Jomhod the happy winner from the first meeting back in Dec

Back in Sweden at our local gym we are training hard as usual making our best and aiming to the top.
The next test for the local Karlstad Muaythai fighters will be this Saturday 9 of Feb when they get a visit from some of Sweden’s best to challenge them at their home ground.

As many of you by now has sure seen or at least knows the results of the Muaythai finals in Falun Sweden from the 25th of January. In 54kg Giang Hoang managed to win over our local Kalifen.
In 60kg yet again and not surprising the Rinkeby fighter Hamza Bogamza was crowned as champion for the second year in a row.

In 67kg Karim Chorr showed good basic style and hard punches that helped him to win over Andy Nguyen after 5 hard rounds of war. Just before the decision I was thought maybe its a chance for Andy to be the winner as he was all over his opponent in the last round scoring with his knees and being not far away from knocking out Chorr witch had nothing left to offer with about 90 sec to go. But after an 8 count in the first round and an unnecessary point reduction by the man in charge in the ring it was to many points already dividing this 2 fighters.

Simon Ogolla representing VBC dominated the heavy weight fight of the evening and making sure the Champion belt will be on his by finishing of the fight be for time with some heavy punches to the body. To see this fights and more click on this link.http://www.svtplay.se/video/971691/25-1-13-00
