World championchips IFMA 2012

After about a week in the Russian city of St Petersburg the Swedish national team in MuayThai has got 14 medals of 29 possible once.
We are left with the last day witch remains only the finals. The young fighter that i stand most close to is Giang Hoang, origianly a product of Fight Gym Borås, he maneged to get pas a Russian and then a Belarussian fighter in the semis by a fast KO in the Second round. Now he is set for the final, and once again he will have to dropp weight to 51kg, witch has been realy hard to do every day. So good luck in the final young brother .

Rasmus Olsson is my own student that i have been training him for the last 2 years, he came here to fight in the Junior division in 57kg with no bigger hopes, but it turned out verry well, his capasity came out, and he showed and prooved that he can have a future in this sport, it all began with Rasmus fighting vs Irland in the last 16, Rasmus won with no bigger problems, then he enterd the quater finals vs a verry talanted fighter from Iraq, this boy was Iraqs hopes in this World chammpionchips, the fighter from the Medel east was the one who steped forword and started the clashes forcing the young Swed to step back. Rasmus new it was a Bronze medal waiting if he is to enter the final 4. With great timing the young Karlstad boy steped back and produced a counter atack on every ocation the Iraqian traied to score. After 3 round Rasmus was the winner by all 5 judges. In the semi final Rasmus lost to an Israeli fighter in a verry close fight.

As i think everybody probobly knows by now that i lost in the last 16 to a fighter from Afganistan. I am Disapointed of parts of my preaformance and verry disapointed of the none unanimous score card from the judges.

Judge 1 (Thai): 40-36 to me.
Judge 2 (Russia): 39-37 to me
Judge 3 (Poland): 38-38 Favior to Afgan
Judge 4 (Malesia): 39-38 Afgan
Judge 5 (Latvia): 40-36 Afgan

So it was the verdict of the 3 judges agains 2. The fact that the Thai judge had me as the winner 40-36 and the Latvian Judge had the Afgan fighter as a winner 40-36 was realy funny, did they look at the same fight??
Or do one of then has just a bad knowledge in MuayThai rules??
My self.. i was so exhausted after the fight so i couldet bother to complain, but just after the referee pronounced the Afgan fighter as the winner i could see the Swedish representetiv handing in a protest and being verry sceptical to the none unanimous decision. I went into the dressing room to watch the video.
Now 5 days after i have seen in about a 100 times, each time i see it i get more sad when i realized i was robbed by the luck of knowledge of the judges.
                                                  Karim Phetphlai wrapping my hands

                                                       Warming up b4 facing Afganistan.

In the end it wasent the judges fault that i lost, its my own fault, i could have done better, could have been stronger. i could have convinced the judges more with a better body language. My philosophy in life is that evrything thats happens to you in life is only your own fault, never anybody els fault.

Thats why i am going to train on the things that i am still not pleased with, and its a few of them.
Going to relax for a few days in Sweden and then start training for the next thing, that is not far away.

Now i will provide you with some links so you can watch the fights on youtube and judge by yourself.

A grupp photo with some of the Swedish team.
Great fights were made by more team members as it was hard to follow all, as some were fighting at the same time. I want to mation Andy Nguyen made a good effort vs Malesia, and Viet Hoang did Well vs Roongruenglek from Thailand. I want to thank Karim Phetphlai & Jocke Karlsson for the help during this turnament, it halped alot, the coaching all other small things around. Thanks to the Swedish Muaythai Federation for beliving in me and taking me here.
